Have you taken a look at our new 8000 Power Pro Advanced Cordless Soldering Iron yet? If not, click here to take a look! Have you been wondering, “What’s the difference between the 8000 and the 7700 Quick Charge Cordless Soldering Iron besides the color?” Read below to find out!

Model #7700 Cordless Soldering Iron

Let’s take a look at the specs of the 7700 and the 8000 first:

7700 Quick Charge (GREY):

  • Fully recharges in 3.5 to 4.0 hours
  • Partially charged battery to full capacity in one to two hours
  • Up to 125 soldering joints per charge

8000 Power Pro Advanced (BLUE):

  • Fully recharges in 3.0 to 3.5 hours
  • Partially charged battery to full capacity in one to two hours
  • Up to 200 solder joints per charge

Now the most important difference in these two irons, is the battery. The 7700 (and every other older model of Iso-Tip/Wahl’s cordless soldering irons) uses a Ni-Cd battery. When we designed the 8000 iron, we knew many of our customers were not a fan of the capabilities of the Ni-Cd. Because of this, we upgraded to a LiFePO4 battery in the model 8000. This battery not only has a longer lifespan than the Ni-Cd, but it is also environmentally friendly!

The Power Pro Advanced Soldering Iron Kit is the next generation of cordless soldering irons from Iso-Tip. Designed for those who want to be efficient with their soldering, the 8000 heats up quickly and features a lithium iron phosphate battery.
